Is very easy to use, and works well. Gentle, pain -free, and makes the massage much more comfortable and easier to do.
Great tool, easy to use and excellent price quality! Delivery was super speedy as well, delivered to UK. Would highly recommend!
Unfortunately I cannot review the product as it was lost in transit, but customer service has been great - I received a quick reply to my follow up email on a weekend and was offered an expedited replacement, but as I am being induced sooner than expected and would not be able to make use of the product, they quickly arranged a full refund instead. It’s a shame as I was excited to try the Perimom!
I bought this product for my second pregnancy because while my husband was super supportive in trying to help with perineal massage, it didn’t always feel the best when I couldn’t control the pressure or the exact area being massaged. I am really impressed with this product and have been using it regularly along with breathing techniques aimed at relaxing the pelvic floor/perineal area. I had some mild tearing with my first delivery and am hoping to avoid that if possible with my second so I’m thankful for this product.
Even though the Perimom is meant to be ergonomic, and I’m right-handed, I still find it incredibly difficult to fully reach and move the wand in the correct way. I’m 99% sure I’m not doing it properly because it’s so difficult to reach down there when I’m 35 weeks pregnant, and I’m just getting an achy hand/wrist long before the 5-10 mins is up. I’m so disappointed as it’s not exactly cheap.
Easy to use device for self perineal massage. Yet to give birth, so unclear how effective it is at reducing tearing.
Easy to use and comfortable
Easy to use. Clear instructions. Very needed to do effect massage when heavily pregnant. Still tore but I believe to a lesser extent than if I did not use perimom. Bought one for sister who is also due baby.
I purchased this as I’m in my second pregnancy and do not want to experience tear as I did in my first labour. Winding down from work and having the time to ensure my body is prepared for delivery is important to me and I can see that making time to massage my perinium is going to massively help with not tearing during labour
So glad this exists, it means I comfortably perform self-peri massage after a shower without straining my hand or trying to find time for my partner to help. Would definitely recommend it!
Glad I got this perineal massager, because I am unable to reach with how far along I am. This is a great way for me to prep before labor and I hope it helps in the end!
The spoon part is comfortable to insert and to massage with. But the handle is a bit too short and not ergonomic. The reason I do perineal massage is because I am 37weeks plus. And my belly is huge. I have trouble reaching down there as it is and the Perimom definitely is helping but the grip is in the wrong place for me. To be able to insert and add a bit of pressure for the massage, i am not holding as intended and that makes the process a bit difficult.
After trying another brand and having difficulty reaching my perineum and lots of discomfort in massaging, I decided to do some research and am so glad I stumbled on PeriMom. It's the perfect wand and oil duo. The thumb notch makes everything easy to apply as much pressure as you want (note: its only for use with the right hand). But there isn't sharp pains and the oil is such a clean product. Can't sing their praises enough. Now if I don't tear in labor, I'll be telling the world to buy here.
This makes the whole thing much easier! Although they try to make it to fit your right hand, in the end you need to find different positions and switch hands but it still does the job!
I am 38 weeks pregnant so have not given birth yet, however was feeling very overwhelmed about starting perineal massage and am so glad I bit the bullet and purchased this wand, it’s given me confidence to be able to do this on my own and has been really positive experience listening to a calming birth meditation/music whilst doing the massage to prepare physically and psychologically at the same time!!
Have just started using it but it’s definitely helping a lot! I can imagine the difference it’ll make in the next few weeks
Only used one week so far but I notice that it feels easier the more I do it so it is probably working. The handle is a bit hard to use it feels a bit awkward
This product helps so much with doing massage yourself! It would bascially be impossible otherwise and much rather do this then get my partner to do it. Tool is great. Highly recommend.
As a midwife I am interested in this product as it may assist some women with perineal massage. I am happy to show women this product - although I am aware there is no research evidence as yet to support its use. Always interested in new products to support birthing women.
This is my second pregnancy and after having an episiotomy for my first birth I am trying everything possible to reduce the chance of needing this intervention again. I found perineal massage very difficult and awkward but since receiving my Perimon I have managed to do 6-7 mins per night since 37 weeks. It’s pain free and easy to use!
Tool makes it easy to reach for perineal massage and doesn’t hurt as it’s very smooth. Easy to clean and store in the pouch provided. My only comment would be I wish there were more instructional videos on how to use it properly. This would bring it up to 5*
The perimom came fairly promptly and was packaged well. It comes with clear instructions on use and has been a great product thus far. I have yet to give birth, but I’m hopeful this will best prepare me and my body for the best possible outcome! I have heard great reviews from friends! Would recommend trying if able!
